The Lovers
Chakra Rainbow Series
Shelley Irish d.b.a. SATI
Original Dimensions: 36" x 36"

Thank you for viewing my work! This painting is part of the Chakra Rainbow Oil Painting Series by Shelley Irish. Through the lens of Chakra Theory, this painting represents human patterns of energetic/spiritual lightness and darkness. My intention behind painting this series is to bring awareness to our states of balance and imbalance and to promote healing.

I painted this as a representation of a balanced sacral chakra. It depicts a couple kissing surrounded by pairs and symbols of water. This painting represents the binary energy of a couple and the romance, intimacy and fluidity of a physical relationship. The couple is also a representation of Eros and Psyche, the mortal woman and heavenly man who could not be without each other.

This painting was exhibited in a one-woman show at Nine 10 Arts in Denver, CO, US in April of 2011 and I so am pleased to offer prints to the public! For more information on this series please visit [link]
I use high quality photography of my work from Reed Photo Art [link] on DA to ensure the print you receive is of the highest quality.

i love your attention to detail in this, how much work has gone into representing this , it clearly shows in the end piece.
the only comment i'd have is the orange background i can only assume you added later; i think it's a shame, because such a bright colour takes away from the vibrance in the painting itself, perhaps a stark black or white could be better...?

either way, beautiful piece :)
